"I first started working with Kate after I was injured in a motor vehicle collision. Finding a physical therapist in Chicago was daunting because I needed someone who could treat my current injury but also who had experience working with individuals who have Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome. While I needed PT for my acute injury, Kate understood how the EDS played into my treatment and recovery.

Working with Kate was honestly life changing. She always explained why I was experiencing pain or movement restrictions in a certain area. I had never worked with a physical therapist who openly communicated all the contributing factors to the symptoms I experienced. I knew exactly why I was given specific exercises, stretches and management tools. This helped me be understanding towards my body, patient with my recovery and stay laser focused on my treatment goals.

Kate employs a truly holistic approach to treatment, taking into account how one’s structural, emotional and nutritional health may be impacting an injury. Kate empowers her patients by including them in creating treatment goals and leading them to be proactive in their treatment. Kate is intuitive, compassionate, hard working and insanely talented at what she does. I strongly recommend working with her especially to anyone looking for a physical therapist to assist their management of EDS, chronic pain, or injury recovery."

"I can’t speak highly enough about my positive experience working with Kate. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to muscular & skeletal structure, and how to maintain an overall healthy body system. As well, she is very in tune with the role diet and emotional health play in physical well being. She is very good at adapting to the different physical challenges I am dealing with whether that be hip issues or shoulder pain.

Kate is a fantastic physical therapist, and has been a real blessing."

"Kate is simply incredible. She is attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I felt comfortable in her care from the start. What makes Kate’s care different is the time she takes to focus on your health holistically- the mind and body connection.

She’s also never afraid to evolve and experiment with new methods of care. I couldn’t recommend her more to get yourself on track and healed physically, nutritionally, emotionally, and spiritually.."

"I went to see Kate for issues with plantar fasciitis. I had seen doctors and had cortisone shots and it kept resurfacing. The next steps was surgery so I thought I would try a few sessions with Kate to see if I could fix it without surgery. In the first few sessions, Kate was able to find the issue with my foot. It started with past issues from my knee. AFter 4 weeks of treatment, I am virtually back to normal and will not need surgery.

I have done PT several times from injuries in sports, and I can say that this is not your "run through these exercises with resistance bands" kind of treatment. It is tuning your body and muscles to fight the pain from the inside. With my results, I would highly recommend to everyone - not just to fix your issue but to understand you body and how it works to prevent in the future. Kate is amazing - lots of knowledge and pushes you appropriately to get results!"

As an endurance athlete in my forties, injuries come with the territory. I started working with Cynthia on a specific injury from running but she quickly was able to see beyond the problem to several of the root causes and we worked together on a regiment that not only treated the injury but also kept me from getting re-injured as I continued my training. Through Cynthia's guidance, I have been able to train in a way that has significantly reduced my risk of injury and since working with her for over two years I have never missed the starting line due to injury.

"I’ve worked primarily with Kate and occasionally with Cynthia for the past year on my low back pain and sciatica following an L5-S1 microdiscectomy. Both of them are absolute rock stars. They crafted dynamic workouts that helped me strengthen and address instabilities and imbalances that were contributing to my pain, educating me on the mechanics throughout in order to help me become self-supporting, listen to & understand my body, and adapt my at-home workouts to my shifting needs. The greatest gem I received from these two was their deep insight and knowledge of the mind-body connection between mental and physical health- without this, I would have never realized that a good 80-90% of my physical pain was a direct consequence of my own negative perception of my spine, the anxiety spirals I suffered around it, and even more broadly, my general major depression. What a revelation it was when I finally acknowledged- “Oh… because I’m anxious and depressed about my spine, my body defaults to slouching, putting more stress on it. It releases stress hormones that lock it in a cycle which prevents my body from performing its natural healing ability.” Because of their guidance, skill, and insight, I was able to make changes in my life that have taken me from suicidal to thriving, while also giving me the pragmatic exercises to mechanically support this change into the future. Cannot recommend highly enough."
